I had recently posted my husband was in the hospital for a few days.

Then he was in rehab for 2 weeks and then he had a few weeks of a nurse and a therapist coming to the house.

The big news today is my husband is going to drive us to
our son's home were it takes about an hour to drive, or maybe a little longer......

We have also been going to church the last few Sunday's!
But that was just a half hour drive.

But the best part of our trip is we have not seen them in a while.

They have 8 beautiful, smart children. And we
sure have missed seeing them all 10 of them!

I am happy its not raining, which it seemed to be doing a lot the last few months.

Another nice thing about our trip is we are going to have supper there. It is even nicer to see the children helping and cooking with their mother....and I do not have to cook!

Grams, I am sorry to hear about your husband. However I am glad you enjoy the visit to your son's house. It must be wonderful to have such a family.

Yes it is aus22,

Only thing is the other two children live out of State.
And we do not get to see them often.
And this son wants to move also. So if he does we are going
also. Unless they do not sell the house, they have been trying for years now.

My husband is trying his best. But it will all take time....

Recovery, especially in older folks can be a long process, so make sure he rests and is stressed as little as possible

Thanks Dax,

I am trying ! But it sure is taking a long time.

I could not believe how many different kind of exercises
their are .
And he is just now starting to do the ones he
was doing before all of this happened.

And then there is the weight, it is coming off so slow.
That to is longer to do in old age.
He has lost over 20 lbs.

Grams, you get to spoil the kids then go home. Best part of being a grandparent?

Hi Mystic,

No , I cant spoil 8 children in only 2 hours.

I wish I could.

To make up for that I always make cookies to bring along.

And even the 2 year old twins know " did you bring cookies? "

They home school so we can not go there till later in the day and driving in the dark for such a distance is not easy so we have to leave sooner then we want.

Always some thing to spoil a good time.....

How are you doing Mystic ?

Congratulations Grams. My parents were married for 50 years but this is rare today. My wife and I will be married 25 years in 2014. The time does fly.

Some people dont realize how fearful such a thing can be for a woman. I wouldnt cut off family ties because of one response that could have been expressed a little better. I pray your tests turn out well with good news

I agree Getyal-Hun, We should try and keep families together. I have not cut off my family but my nices and nephew never visit me. I talk to two of them on facebook. Sometimes relationship break down through no fault of yours.
