I would like to remind all of you who have a dog that you should use a choke-chain collar only while walking your dog.
I had one very bad experience with this.
Our son had two dogs, both had on choke collars. One day no one was home but me and the two dogs. They were in our back yard playing, and an accident happened.
I heard the dogs making all kinds of terrible sounds, so I looked out the window and they were biting each other!
They would not stop! I did not want to touch them. It seemed like they just did not know what was going on.
I got a good close look and it was one dog getting her paw into the others collar around her neck and it was twisted. I went looking for a tool to cut it off. I knew we had one but could not find it. I knew I was not strong enough to remove the paw from the collar.
I kept trying to stop them and make them sit, but nothing was working for me.
I started to make a noise with the picnic table to alarm them. They did stop finally, but this kept up and finally a neighbor came and yelled do I want her to call the police?
Well I had no idea what else to do so I said OK!
Well, my husband drove up and I yelled to him what was going on, and he jumped over the fence and grabbed the dogs and got the paw out of the others collar. The police did come, glad my husband got home first.
That was something I never want to see happen again to anyone's dog!
Some one told me also they had a dog get caught up on the fence with that kind of chain collar, so please be careful.
