Through the use of a deadly poison called DRC-1339 farmers and others can now feel confident that birds are not going to crap in feed supplies. Yes, one of the reasons officials at the offices of the USDA are giving the public for the mass killing of birds is to protect YOU!

Carol Bannerman from USDA Wildlife Services ridiculously claimed the bird kill was also to protect “human health.”
Bless their little hearts...as they will show you on their own spreadsheets how they are protecting you from those dangerous flying critters, using your tax dollars.

Not to worry though....the USDA, claims there are no toxic concerns....according to this one article. Of course the title of the article should read, Millions of Yankton...

This begs the question, if the USDA can comfortably kill off birds...in Bye Bye Birdie, then it isn't too much of a leap to assume what is up their sleeves to solve the population issues facing us today. Should we really leave these fools in charge?

I really need to create my own garden. Every day there is more and more evidence.....thank goodness for the internet allowing us to be more educated and exposing these practices which we would in the past would have been in the dark about.

ktiv: They say poisoning isn't a common practice.

In all, officials estimate nearly 2,000 birds ate the poison. However, since the bait has been removed they don't expect any more birds to die.

The farm it was used on had an ongoing problem with about 5,000 birds crapping in the feed.

Starlings, the bird in question, is an invasive species brought here from Europe. They are crop depredators and compete with native US species.

5,000 are the number of birds killed of in Ohio...because some farmer was too dang lazy to cover his grain. 4,120,291 are the total number of birds (and other wildlife killed for the similar reasons as the starlings. Doves, turkeys, killdeers, pigeons, red-tail hawks, geese, ravens, crows, blackbirds....etc....and even many land animals as well.

The USDA continues to be a poor steward of our lands.
