I have been skimming the internet about police brutality cases. Sounds like we NEED big brother surveillance cameras to watch our "heroes in blue". Many cases they have been exposed by some video shot by a bystander or a security camera. If there were no camera the blame would have been put upon someone else. Even a grandmother in one case where the officer claimed she took his gun and shot her own grandchild during a raid. Pathetic. And we wonder why so many distrust the police....these jerks mar their good name.

Dash cams are great. They help the police and the people they stop.

Our local PD is testing uniform cameras. Little cameras, about the size of those on the shoulder mics, that they wear on their uniforms. The idea is the same as dash cams. The cameras will record, with sound, both sides of the stop.

I'd hope something like that would deter police 'over reaction' in so many cases, but I wonder if it will--maybe in some cases, but not in all.
