However in political terms it is always wise to be a yes man and crawler. I afraid I am more like Ashby so never advanced wey far in politics or even in my Church. I suspect you are the same.

Thank you for the clarification Aus. But, actually. It is the same group, or at the very least they are derivative. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence started here in San Francisco.

Of course I don't live where you live but this wiki url seems to support what I have known to be true, right from the first lines. Your Sisters are the same thing as our Sisters...however if you have information to the contrary I would genuinly like to know to the truth.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisters_of_Perpetual_Indulgence

You are correct, to have the pendulum swing in the complete opposite direction isn't a good thing either. That's exactly why the idea of "The speration of Church and State" came to be (at least with us in America.) Gov't shouldn't medle in Church and Church shouldn't medle in Gov't. Otherwise the balance of power could be tipped and our Founding Fathers didn't want that to happen.
Sadly, that's exactly what's been going on in America almost for 20 years. I don't disagree with many of the moral beliefs of what we call the Evangelical or Christian Right but in the spirit of keeping power balanced, fair and America free, we can't have our Constitution be ruled by only one group of people and their beliefs.

And to have that group decide that another group, that you and I love, care for and hold dear in our lives, not be treated equally in the eyes of the law but can pay taxes, isn't fair.

But, I think we both agree on that.

Christian Cagigal, I have read the article in Wikipedia. This is not a reliable source as anyone can write the articles. It is restricted even by Wikioedia. However even the article suggest it is not a genuine charity but
Quote:
claiming that while they perform fundraising and other community activities, they do it in the spirit of anti-Catholicism. Catholic League president William A. Donohue states, "It is ludicrous on the face of it for the Sisters to maintain that one of the major issues they address is 'the role of religion in daily life.

Their attempts to disrupt Catholic services and their support only for certain charities indicate its main aim is to attack the Catholic Church The article does say the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI) is also called the Order of Pepetual Indulgence in Australia and elsewhere is a charity, protest and street performance organization that uses drag to call attention to sexual intolerence and to satirize issues of gender and morality.

Aparently the US Constitution does allow this group to operate. However at least your political leaders like Clinton refuse to attend a gay rights march because of the presence of this group. Aparently our leaders were not so aware.

Well then don't complain about him "having to do" something when he is just being a whore. If the state of your country is in such a sorry state as ours with no one with a backbone but filled with whores, perhaps you should consider joining the Anarchist Collective. Just drink some Coke and eat some Natural Cheddar Cheese and you will immediately start thinking clearer without the fog of the NWOs mind control drugs and devices. (The NWO is quite active in Australia). Just pass along this good advice and soon the Governments will have no control over us, they'll whine and stamp their feet and we'll tell them to go to hell.

Red your solution might work in the American scene but is not likely to work here. I do not think drinking the American coke will appeal to many Australians. We can eat cheese because we have our local cheese.

I think how we resolve our limited power over institutions depends on the individual and his background. It might suit you to become anarchrist and this might work in the USA. However here I have tried to used by limited influence to change the institutions from inside. I think I have suceeded in making both the Labor Party and the Catholic Church in Australia more liberal. With others I have made Australia more multi Culture. My big weapon against White Australia besides demonstrating is to marry an Asian. In the Church I have campaign for a place for the single person. This might not extend to gay rights yet but most parishes now have social activities for single members. They have not regain the youth yet but are working in this directiion.

These achievements have been limited but at least I have not giving up my principles for power. I am writing some aspects on my life story on my web site. We all have to deal with our lack of power in different ways but I think I have been consistent in suporting the same political party and church mostof my life and achieving some worthwhile changes in these institutions.
