I fear there will be more and more surveillance....worldwide! We expand the intrusions year by year. Camera's proliferate, electronic snooping grows more sophisticated... this will be a very tough and perennial battle.

The computers are school property. They have a right to know where their property is, who's using it and how. They may even be accountable for it. Imagine what happens when a school computer is used to do something illegal.

The cameras though are a bad idea. I don't believe that, "The tracking-security feature was limited to taking a still image of the operator and the operator's screen". I'd like to see that technology and that it's used on the school laptops the kids take home.

This will certainly lead to a picture of a naked kid on a laptop. Kids will have them in their rooms. Kids change clothes there. It's going to happen and lets see what the school says then. I know what they'll say. They'll say, it's ok, we're the school or they'll blame and discipline the kid and their parents.

This camera snooping is just plain wrong. I mean what were they thinking? Maybe their students should spy on them and see what "good and wholesome" things they are up to when not in front of a class....

Everything we do on the computer is seen by somebody. Big companes like Amazon, Google,etc keep a detail record of our computer transactions. Even Face book and Twitter is observed by companies to fit you into a target audience for advertisement.
