stone Computer Tips Moderator Registered: 01/07/03 Loc: NH	How about we start cutting the mother of all pork... Defense spending. We're paying more on defense now than we were during the Cold War and I find this quite unconscionable. Are we any safer now for it? Has something like the quickly discontinued F22 made us any safer? Dax Administrator Registered: 08/01/99 Loc: New York, NY (New York)	Well--things are more expensive now than they were then, and we are the country most vulnerable to attack by those who, in a sense "envy our freedom". Although I would suggest that there's so much waste and corruption on government spending that the defense budget could be cut considerably if this were eliminated. Good luck eliminating it. You're asking crooks to tell other crooks not to be so crooked.

Red veteran member Registered: 04/27/09	I think we do have a stewardship to preserve freedom against any enemy. But we really need to examine everything because it is all ridiculous. Sure, that stuff is expensive, but cmon. And our soldiers are worth more than they are paid. We should be able to pay our forces better and provide the same or better defense for less budget. _________________________ Doing my part to stick it to THE MAN!
