Here's a country we don't hear about in the news every day. Jamaica.
Bilateral trade in goods between the US and Jamaica topped $2 billion in 2007.
Some 80 US companies have operations in Jamaica and US business investments come to over $3 billion. The American Chamber of Commerce operates in Jamaica.
The Peace Corps has been in Jamaica since 1962 and USAID contributed over $12 million in development assistance in 2006.
Over 1.2 million Americans visited the island nation in 2006.
About 20,000 Jamaicans emigrate to the United States each year and around $1.6 billion is sent to Jamaica from expats living and in the US, Canada and the UK.
Rastafarian counts for less than 10% of the religious beliefs held according to a 2001 census. Most Jamaicans who claim a religion are members of the Church of God.
