Randy I agree with most of what you said. However I am not American and have been label anti American by conservatives. I think we all should look at both Geography and History. If you look at a map North Korea is nowhere near the USA. It does not imposed a direct threat. The USA only got involved in the Korean War because of the cold war. North Korea was an ally of the USSR. This has all change if you look at a history book.

North Korea is far nearer Australia and even nearer China. It is in our sphere of influence. Only countries in the region can solve the problem. I think China is trying to do this. Australia has less influence but we do at least have diplomatic relation with North Korea unlike the USA. We like the USA are a rich nation. Because we are the last white country in thye Asia-Pacific region we are look on with some suspicion. Yet many Paific islands like Timor, the Solomons and Fiji expect us to help them. We do not want to be the policeman of the Pacific but we are rich neighbours so must help.

Korea will solve its own problem with the help of its neighbours. The main desire in both Koreas is unity. A united Korea will not be a threat to anyone. Neiher communist or pro American capitalist it will not even need atomic weapons.

Don't worry about it. Conservatives think everyone who doesn't live in Kansas is anti-American.

I have always been pro-American. I am a veteran of Viet Nam and the cold war. Most probably, I am more "anti-politician" than anything else. I believe if I had it to do over, I might possibly have been one of the folks that burned my draft card and refused to show up for my share of the recent rash of "conflicts". Older, and not necessrily wiser, just better informed. In my youth, I like many, ran out and enlisted when I was told there was a need. Done over, I would take a little time to varify we were really in danger from the dreaded Communists. Can you say PRO-PA-GAN-DA?........It is possible to be a good pro-American, and not believe EVERYTHING you're told by our leaders. EVERYONE has an agenda, and unfortunately most are influenced at least partly by GREED.

I was a Vietnam war protestor, but I was wimpy about it. I boiled my draft card.

Dax, I must be a bigger whimp than you. I did march in the anti Vietenam protests but did not tell anyone in my Catholic school where I taught. During the Korean war when call up in the draft I developed hay fever for the first and last time. So I unlike Randy have never served in the armed forces. However anti Vietnam War demostrators did lose their jobs and some went to jail.
