According to what I read, the President's plan will be less expensive--although how much less isn't known now since the Pentagon has already been developing plans for the Bush scheme.
I never really understood from the beginning, why the former president wanted the 'shield.' None of them really work the way they're hyped up to work. And, while the governments of Poland and Czechoslovakia may have wanted the additional revenue, the people didn't. I think they'll be pleased with the President's decision.
Of course, the Republicans won't be, but that's to be expected. I wonder if they'll organize a 'hate making' series of protests as they did before any health care reform plan was finally announced?
