The good thing about Holders comments is that Nancy Pelosi immediately came out and said she and the administration have absolutely no plans whatsoever to reimpliment the AWB and that Holder was more or less talking off the cuff. That and he didn't approach Pelosi in regards to pursuing such legislation.

This rather surprised me.

I'm not at all surprised. The more likely explanation is that Holder let slip the gist of discussions held prior to, and in conjunction with his being nominated to the Attorney General's Office.

I don't think for one moment that the leaders of the majority party in Washington have given up on enacting more restrictive gun ownership legislation. But Democrats have bigger fish to fry at the moment which is what brought on Nancy Pelosi's sotto voiced: "Psst! Ixnay on the unsgay!"

Well, my dear, if by "it" you are referring to my editorial conclusion, I guess it doesn't hurt to concede I "got it" from following the actions and public statements of the President and Congressional Democrats. It can provide plenty of information as well as (in the case of the 111th Congress) plenty of trepidation. Why?

Does ban guns domestically mean all the guns in the US will have to live with the shame of being banned? Or is this a revisiting of the Assault Weapons Ban?
