And the damn ammo prices still hover at over 50% what they were pre-election.

I've been seeing some play in ammo prices lately.

One is that not everyone is charging what they were before. Prices are still high across the board but, some have gone down. Academy Sports and Outdoors and a local shooting range are having a sale now. In my experience, shooting range ammo prices were always higher than other vendors. This sale is an exception to that.

The other play is vendors playing on what they believe their customer base believes. I'm seeing the bulk vendors, such as Cheaper Than Dirt, especially their walk in store, are still charging high prices compared to other vendors. A co-worker was in CTD this week and was told that .45 ACP was on a three year back order. I don't accept that as a word for word true statement. I think these guys are playing on their customers believing that if a bulk vendor who has been historically lower in price while offering a greater inventory tells them something, then they'll just believe it. I mean, if 'these guys' can't get the goods, it must be true that no one can.

CTD will never get another cent of my money ever again and I HIGHLY suggest you never shop there either. They jacked their ammo prices over 300% in the whole election price scare and they still haven't come down to what many others have. I mean, they have Wolf Black Box x39 up there for like $350 for a case of 1000.

And no, there is no three year back order on .45 ACP, that's a load of ca ca. They price gouged because they thought they could get away with it and thankfully have lost many customers due to it. Hell, after the election they had 20 round Tapco SKS magazines that were three to four times the price of what you can get them directly from Tapco for. They're fear mongering, price gouging assholes that deserve to have the empire crumble.

I'll never buy from them again and warn anyone off that attempts to. They can choke on their ammo.
