Michael Savage aka Michael Weiner [his real name], the controversial conservative talk show host has recently been banned from entering the United Kingdom by Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith. Also banned were several other individuals, including violent Russian skinheads, members of Hamas, and hate preachers from here in the United States. It is not clear if the Home Secretary banned Savage and the others based on shared intelligence from the American CIA or FBI, who might see these individuals as being security threats.

Included in the list are Westboro Baptist Church pastor Fred Phelps and his daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper. Phelp's church is the one which pickets the funerals of aids victims and soldiers killed in Iraq, claiming their deaths are handed down by God as a result of America's tolerance of homosexuality.

Home Secretary Smith is quoted as saying:

"I think it's important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here, the fact that it's a privilege to come and the sorts of things that mean you won't be welcome in this country." [and] "...controversial daily radio host considered to be engaging in unacceptable behavior by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence."

Savage responded in his usual conservative rant manner by saying:

" For this lunatic Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary of England [sic] to link me with skinheads who are killing people in Russia, to put me in the same league with mass murderers who kill Jews on buses is defamation."

Savage is apparently also unhappy with fellow conservie talk show host, Rush Limbaugh for not coming to his aid in this ban-off by Home Secretary Smith...saying of Mr. Limbaugh...

"...and here in America, I've had some people come to my aid. They see the bigger picture. They're not like [Bill] O'Reilly; they're not like Limbaugh, who's the biggest disappointment of all. Limbaugh has turned out to be the biggest phony of them all...he's the biggest fraud. When he was accused of the drug usage, I supported him. But that man is a one way street. It's all about him. He's in it for nobody but himself."

Apparently Savage is not happy with another conservie-talkie, Glen Beck, and has called Beck a "hemorrhoid."

Another interesting Michael Savage story. He's spent the greater part of his radio career trashing Hillary Clinton in the usual neo-conservative anti-woman, hostile, hate spewing way, calling her speeches Hitleresque etc.

When his name appeared on the British blacklist, he appealed to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for help.

Also targeted by Home Secretary Smith are two other racist Americans, former Klu-Klux Klan Grand Wizard, Stephen Donald Black and Neo-Nazi leader, Erich Gliebe.

So, is Savage trying to get the socialist-inclined Obama "big government" to throw its weight around and reverse the Home Secretary's decision?

My favorite Savage shock-jock quote was what he said about the teenage girls from that private school in Marin County, the ones who were volunteering to feed homeless people in San Francisco area...

"The girls from Branson [the school] can go in and maybe get raped...because they seem to like the excitement of it. There's always the thrill and possibility they'll be raped in a dumpster while giving out a turkey sandwich."

You know what, I need to step in here. I am tired of these nutballs being called and calling themselves "Conservative" and dictating what Conservative beliefs are. These people are crazy.

Being Conservative means exactly what it sounds like - Conservation, and principally conservation of the Constitution, wise stewardship of taxpayer monies and individual and states rights. It has nothing to do with religion, by sheer dictate of the Constitution. Questions of freedom and rights should be reasoned from Constitution, not scripture. A Conservative wants to conserve our environment, truly conserve it. Thank you Teddy Roosevelt! To not do so would be foolhardy, bad stewardship and illogical. And we should welcome scientific skepticism, which is the basis of science.

I found Nixon's assault on individual rights as completely against Conservatism as well as Bush's expansion of that assault. Maybe Obama will abate that, but I seriously doubt it. Freedoms lost to Elitist Government are difficult to regain.

The whole religious interference thing just pisses me off. Gay marriage...wtf. If I start on that it won't be pretty. They need to just leave people alone.

In short, I don't listen to Michael Savage because if I did, I may lose control trying to make it stop.

Well, Red, you're very protective of the label "Conservative, calling the extremist conservatives "freaks" and "crazies", but I have noticed that you do not extend the same courtesey to the label "Liberal", instead you generalize all "Liberals" as though they had the characteristics of extremists.

Would you agree with me that this seems to indicate an innate bias on your part?

We all understand, of course, that the extremists on both ends of the spectrum are, in fact, pretty weird, but to only see this about one's favored side and be blind to the other displays the wearing of a partisan eyepatch, either consciously or unconsciously.

You kind of look like a pirate with that thing on.
