When a country like Mexico has to fund our debts, we are in trouble. If any of you are interested in how the bailout should have been done, please check how Sweden did it in the 1990's....Basically, Sweden nationalize many of the banks, paid off the bond holders, told share holders they lost the gamble....made her citizens owners. AND then sold off the banks' shares back to investors once the banks reached solvency.

Any thoughts?

This is the solution I have advocated. Not just pay the debts of the banks and give them back to the same owners . But Nationalize the banks keep them in Government hands until they earn a profit.
Just don't tell anyone this is socialist.

Aus, before signing off on the bailout bill, senators were being flooded by appeals from many university economists (some Nobel laureates) asking congress to hold a hearing for them to voice alternative to just giving $700 billion to a guy that helped to cause the problems..(Paulson) ...

I would say Sweden got it right.

Sleek, the Dow-Jones slipped below the all important 10,000 mark. European countries and Asia are in total panic. Palin ignores the financial dilemma totally and is busy to smear Obama. Rev. Wright is being dug up again, ect. ect.

Lady, the world in burning, compliments of our irresponsible, greedy Fat Cats, who have been cuddled by miserable creatures on both sides of the isle, because the lobbyists spoke such a convincing language.

Giulio Tremonti, Italy's finance minister, wrote a book and spelled out the dangers of globalization. He feels that he is now vindicated. Mrs. Palin, have you ever heard of globalization? For that matter, do you know where Italy is?
