I have made the effort to bring this thread back to discussing the subject in a non combative manner. If personal attacks on Queen Mum continue, I will have no choice but to close this thread.

Here is the thing, CG...I launched no personal attack. I pointed out what someone said. If you wish to old that someone sacred as your Queen Mum I suppose you are so entitled. I suppose you can even close threads over someone pointing out what was said. I will however point out the blatant hypocracy involved in allowing your special someone to launch personal attacks without so much as a comment and then threatening to close a thread when someone else points out those attacks...

This thread has now been trashed, unfortunately for the new member who began it. Please take the time to seperate all the personal attack posts and paste them into their own little thread in the Town Dump where you and Lawmage can have more fun trying to bully me, and leave this thread clean and on topic. I figure it should take you about 20-30 minutes.

Every time a thread gets hijacked by someone into a simple-minded mud-fest I will be requesting you to do this, so it might be prudent to nip these things in the bud to save yourself work in the future.

Please get this thread clean pronto so we can read some kind of sense in the replies without the extraneous nagging and bullying.

Standing orders from now on for all such cases. No more hijacks.

If Ray would like to dismiss him as a kook, then he needs to step up to the plate and show through Sherman's records, the guy is a kook....or else Ray's opinion is based on what? Sherman is a Democrat???

My guess is Ray likes to have a little bit of bandering fun and means no harm... But in all seriousness, if men and women of Congress were arm-twisted in signing this bailout bill, then we really out to give this serious consideration.

I called you out for questioning Helice's credibility and integrity... OR lack of as you so brilliantly put it. If I had done that to you, trust me, I would be hiding in the California ocean...from your wrath!

The term Queen Mum was meant to be fun and also show respect,(which I hope you have) for Helice... I hope we can all disagree with her (when those times come up) in ways other than calling her on her lack of credibility and worse- integrity!

I wouldn't lock this thread because of what you posted...notice I didn't remove posts. I would lock it, if it disintegrates into unintelligent bickering...which we have all contributed in some capacity.

All threads that degenerate into fights and bicker-fests will now be edited and placed in here, where participants are free to continue to flog a dead horse until their arms give out.

This should be a fine strategy to keep Town Meeting threads on topic, just as "Unholy Ground" worked out very well in our Faith & Philosophy forums to keep those subjects from being diverted. I really have to pat myself on the back for this. I should have done it years ago.
