there is a societal double-standard here. K-Mart sells g-strings for 6 year olds. On the other hand we ban photographs of nude pre-teens on the basis that a) they are porngraphic or b) the photographs will engender paedophilia. Society needs to make up its mind about sexulaising pre-teens. Hurry up!

You are true about that.I'm a ten years old and I dont think we should be traped in non pretty clothes. I think we should express our selves.
Don't get me wrong we dont nedd to be dressing in ex apel clothes to make us fell pretty ,but I think we dont need to be wearing long pants
or bagy shirts. No we should not dress in sexy clothes,but we shuold be aloud to dress a little cute!

I agree with you Anon....cute is ok...sexy is not. Why do you think that long pants cant be sexy...they can be if they are well fitting.

I do feel that some clothing is totally inappropriate for any pre-teen or even up to mid teens. My 11 year old lives in pants..hates skirts, but with a cute t-shirt she looks her age. I dont want her to look/behave older than her years - her childhood (as with all my kids) is an important phase of her development.

I have a couple of questions, which may seem silly to some, but I'm serious.

I've been out of clothes buying for my daughter for some time, now. What is dressing in a 'sexy way?' Who believes that an 8-12 yr. old girl (or older) looks sexy no matter how they're dressed?

I think That Teen girls should were dresses and have Long hair . And play with Barbies not footballs and hot wheels . Maybe I am old fashion Thank god I don"t have a Daughter lol I no I would have a hard time letting here date and would probably make a tom girl out of here taking her to football games nascar And taking her fishing but some girls like being tom girls and some like being barbies .So I think a lot has to be up to the individual girl But the Mom and Dad should try to not let them dress to sexy but should let them dress as cute little girls not grown ups are tom boys.
