Comments like this is what I like about you Dax:
I'll say regime change, posession of WMDs and association with al-queda terrorists.
I know what you mean, CassielA. Sometimes I think it's positively uncanny how you and Dax share the same world view on so many issues.
Look Ray Dax is 100% correct. The Russians have done no more than Israel did when it invaded Lebanon.
As I say, it's uncanny.
What upsets Americans like you and Captain America is that you don't like other powers in the world doing what you do around the world "extracting the urine".
Awwww piss off!
. o O (Hmm! "Uncle Ray" and "Captain America." We could team up for a radio talk show. I'll bet we'd be good, too.)
Doesn't everyone? The UN is sort of like the story of the "3 Little Pigs" only the big bad wolf has a senior moment: "Alright then, you bad countries. If you don't open that door then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll...uh...huff and I'll puff and...and I'll huff and I'll puff..."
The commentaor on Newsnight a nightly news propgramme has just said to David Milliband that the west is powerless to do nothing to stop Russsia and all Mlliband did was waffle on.I think what Milliband was trying to say was that "the west has shot it's bolt" but could not bring himself to say so.
In fact, I'll be quite interested to see what the NATO Members do, particularly in response to Russian offensive misille movement. I know Poland is feeling a little skittish. Particular when the Vlad the Impaler outright threatened Poland, a NATO member I might add.
Georgia again shows how arrogant the west is,did the west think that Russia was going to let you get away with allowing Kosov to become a free country seperate from Serbia without paying a heavy price.
Hmmmm. And let us remember that the Kosovo war was a NATO sanctioned thing. And THAT'S the reason Russia invaded Georgia? Because it was pissed off about Kosovo? Again, I'll be curious to see what NATO ends up doing.
The silence coming from China is deafening concerning Georgia. After the Olympics I think Russia and China are going to cause a lot more mid night oil to be burnt in Washington and Whitehall.
I don't necessarily see China jumping in on Russia's side or anyone's side. My thinking is that, beyond the obligatory statement of how all sides need to put down their guns, the Chinese will be content to sit back and watch with amusement.
