Obama's reaction did not indicate "race". I never said it did. He did not mention "race". I never said he did. His reaction to the McCain ad is only racist because you perceive it to be. I've never commented on his reaction to the ad. Actually I can't remember what "his" reaction to the ad was, or if he even had one. I've been commenting on YOUR reaction to it. Probably a talking point of Rush's. I haven't turned his show on lately. The truth is I haven't sent Rush Limbaugh any emails with links to this thread, so it's safe to say he hasn't had any opinion on it one way or another. At least none that I've heard of. Hey! You suppose he could be one of those "anonymous" readers we get all day long at Fool Moon? Hmm!

I wonder if Stone would say it did not matter if McCain actually came out in a speech and said he was better qualified because he did indeed look like the people on the money...? I would say it doesn't matter other than the fact that if McCain did say that, he'd be an even bigger jackass than he already is. I strongly suspect Stone would be screaming about the racist Republicans and demanding McCain be tarred and feathered at the earliest possible opportunity. Well, your suspicions be wrong. You know, this "liberal" media along with the republican pundits have had a field day with that one sentence. It really is a complete non issue. Now, if Obama came out and starting using things like he came from the ghetto, and is as black as all the other ghetto blackies, vote for me , then yeah, I'd say that's an issue. Saying he doesn't look like those on the currency... ummmm, non issue. You're frothing over nothing, Law.

It is indeed a big deal because it is indicative of what we can expect from Obama: leadership style that plays upon racial tensions to divide Americans. While I completely disagree with your assessment, I see your point. I think it's a bit dramatic on your part but then, drama is something you're pretty damn good at. Of course the "they" were republicans. That said, I don't see how that's any worse than the republican's injecting fear in their attempt to scare voters into voting for them. You know, like how if people were to vote democrat, the terrorists will again have the opportunity to attack because, you know, Democrats are weak on defense and all that other bullshit that they've spouted over the last seven years or so... Or the whole nonsense behind color coded threat assessments and what not. This administration has continuously used fear as a tactic to get what they want. The erosion of the Constitution(yeah yeah, you're bias allows you to only see that it occurs under the Democrats) and the piss poor way this war has been executed are two perfect examples of what using fear as a tactic will get you. Again, I think you're looking a bit too deeply into what he said and you're own anti-Democrat biases are causing you to draw the conclusion that you are.

How about this? (Words taken from a David Horsey political cartoon published in the Seattle P-I on 08-07-08, titled, McCain's Campaign Strategy.
"First, we'll call Obama an 'elitist.' 'When he insists that he grew up poor with a single Mom in Hawaii, we'll say he's an 'exotic.' 'When he says exotic is a code word, we'll say he's playing the race card.' 'When he moves to the center, we'll say he's a flip-flopper. When he doesn't, we'll say he's a wild-eyed liberal.' 'When he draws large crowds, we'll say he's a mere celebrity.' 'When he gives a good speech, we'll say he's too slick.' 'Then, when Obama just ignores you and turns the other cheek?' 'Easy. We'll say he thinks he's Jesus.'"
I don't always agree with Horsey, but I couldn't miss your use of the phrase 'the One,' Ray, in two of your posts within this thread.
Just what, or whom, did you mean by that?
