Gee, Helice...I wonder if Stone would say it did not matter if McCain actually came out in a speech and said he was better qualified because he did indeed look like the people on the money...? I strongly suspect Stone would be screaming about the racist Republicans and demanding McCain be tarred and feathered at the earliest possible opportunity.

Obama didn't say he was better qualified, he said "They will tell you I don't look like (the money)."

If McCain said he DID look like the people on the money he'd be laughed at, because he looks as much like Lincoln and Washington as Bush does.

When Obama said "They'll tell you I don't look like..the (Presidents on the money)" he meant just that. And if you don't think the swiftboaters are doing versions of that, you don't know your own party.

In an earlier post I mentioned that there are certain people in America who would not vote for Obama because he's black. Ray countered that those people must be Republican, because they would not vote for a liberal like Obama no matter what color he was. Fair enough. It means that all the racists who would not vote for him because he's black (presumably Democrats) will use their racist hands to push the McCain lever, giving McCain 100% of the racist vote in America.

Oh, I don't know about "100%" I'm sure The One will get all the votes from those who are voting for him ONLY because he's black.

LM and Ray...you can't have it both ways. If McCain didn't mean to send a racist message by showing Obama's face on a dollar bill while a voiceover essentially says, "Who the hell does he think he is?" then when Obama referred to that ad he wasn't making a comment about race either. But since McCain characterized Obama's mention of the McCain ad as playing the race card, then there must have been a racial message in the ad, because Obama never mentioned race in his comment.

The claim you imply that he used that "money" remark to say "I'm black, vote for me." (That's what playing the race card means to you, doesn't it?)

But IMO he meant that the Republicanss will tell you he's black.('They'll tell you that I don't look like...") which of course is the Republican version of the race card. To suggest that he's telling you he's black is incredibly stupid, since we all have eyes.

I think the voice over essentially says, "Gosh! What a pompous jerk!" Be that what it may I should just like to know if showing the image of a $100 bill is considered "racist?" Is showing Barack Obamas face "racist?" I mean, did it just show his face photoshopped to a $100 bill? Or was something added like turning his visage into an exaggerated caricature or putting a dialog bubble over his head saying, "Yowza Massa!" or "Feets! Do yo' duty!"? Was it anything like that? Or is using someone's image to drive home the message that he's a pompous windbag "racist?" Help me out, here.

Obama's reaction did not indicate "race".. He did not mention "race". His reaction to the McCain ad is only racist because you perceive it to be... Probably a talking point of Rush's...??? I haven't turned his show on lately...
