Ray: And if you'll recall, it was Barack Obama who brought up the idea of picturing him on a dollar bill. This is an outright lie, and I challenge you to find any statement Obama made to back up what you said, that he brought up the idea of picturing himself on a dollar bill. It's such an outrageous distortion of what he actually said it's beyond any kind of civil discourse. Really? I seem to recall YOU alluding to Obama doing exactly that: The fact of the matter is, the "not like the Presidents on the (money)" remark is undoubtedly dealing a race card. It can't possibly be anything else. His attempts to wriggle out of it are just plain silly. Oh, you silly, silly Dax. I've posted this in its entirety so you can see how neocons argue their "points." I say Obama did not say he pictured himself on money. Ray says I did, and as proof quotes me as saying that his remark about not looking like Washington or Lincoln is playing a race card. Now find me one sentence anywhere not only in my posts, but in Obama's speeches, where he suggests his picture should be on money. No, it's lies right in your face, and Ray's hope is that they are so loud, so arrogant, so distorted and so fraudulent that you'll buy the bombast. When a liberal says a dog is not an elephant, neocons accuse the liberal of saying dogs don't exist. Neocon logic. Arrogant because they think you'll believe it, cynical because they know some people will believe it, evil because it is used to effect the kind of change that harms America.

...Obama claimed they would tell people he did not look like the people on the money. We all know damn well what he meant. First of all, he can't be on money until he's dead, so it's useless to suggest he wanted to see himself on money, or he should be on money. Lots of Presidents will never be on money, although they'll all get a stamp sooner or later. Second, to refute Lawmage's comment that "we all know damn well what he meant" -- no we don't. I can give you three or four interpretations, none of which is, "I will sure look good on the dollar bill after I die." I acknowledge that it's a race card played, but beyond that the exaggerated claim you project on Obama is specious at best, and, if I may take a leaf from your book, a lie at worst.

In the opening post the claim I made was that Obama was playing the race card. And my response is, who the F cares. Big deal. He played the race card by saying he didn't look like the people on the dollar bill. This is an absolute non-issue that you're foaming over. It's incredibly pathetic. An election in this country is a contest to get votes. These douche bag politicians of ours are going to pander to whoever they see fit. Would you be as offended if McCain was like, "hey, guys, I'm an old, white haired man, I can relate to all you other old white haired men."? I really don't give two shits if Obama makes an issue out of his blackness. It means absolutely nothing. You're making an issue out of some stupid ass sentence that Obama said that really doesn't mean shit. So what. Get over it. Perhaps you should also make an issue of how pathetic John McCain is. His ad claimed that Obama was the biggest celebrity in the world. As if republicans never, ever elected celebrities. This is a run for votes and obviously Obama is doing a far better job of it than McCain is. Again, a pathetic mountain out of a molehill.
