This man was unemployed, had been on food stamps (but the state was planning to reduce or stop those).... and among other things, he had previously threatened extreme violence against his (now ex) spouse, telling her he would blow her brains out and his own as well. Sounds more like an angry mentally unstable individual who for whatever reason or reasons could not hold down a job for very long. I'd say he was more of a neo-criminal than a neo-conservative.
Personally, I doubt he was an actual political conservative. I don't know of many conservatives who are chronically unemployed and on food stamps. Maybe there are a few out there. It's possible I suppose. I do agree that unstable low intelligence people like him might be influenced by the talking heads on Fox and elsewhere who tend to blame everything that's wrong in America and the world on the evil pinko liberal conspiracy.
I posted his photo below. The recent pic was provided by the Knoxville Police Dept. I assume it was taken while he was in custody. I don't see anything that slightly resembles remorse in his face and eyes. Do you? On the contrary, he seems to actually be proud of what he's done, as if to say, I guess I showed those gay-loving equal rights anti-war liberals a thing or two.
Notice he did not bother to take his own life with that 12 gauge he was carrying. He was tackled when he stopped to reload, but if he had wanted to kill himself, he could have brought along his .38 cal. handgun and used it to shoot himself in the head. I take that to mean he's also a coward along with being a freeloader and too stupid and or deranged to hold down a job. Watch for the guy's lawyer to try and enter an insanity plea on his client's behalf. Maybe he will be able to show that watching too much Fox News pushed the guy over the line. The Fox-Hannity-Limbaugh-Savage Defense. Hmmmmmm, I like it.
