Truck drivers listening to old 8 tracks?
You have problem with truck drivers? I mean, the reference to "old 8-tracks" sounds like maybe you think people who drive trucks for a living a just a wee bit below you. I guess they'd have to be pretty ignorant to listen to "old 8-tracks" because they couldn't listen to AM radio. Probably because truck drivers are too ignorant to realize that FM radio even exists. You think?
Of course I'm being facetious...

(about the use of 8 tracks). Seriously, what activity options are available to a truck driver?...who is on the road (usually by himself) for 12 + hours a day?
He/she can listen to music, audio books, stereo set up...or the radio. Speaking from "experience", I know how lonely the road can become. Most of the time, I prefer my own zone...listening to music or books, but other times, I desire human contact. At those times, I listen to the radio while I drive. Unfortunately, radio options are few. Most of them maintain the same tenor.
It is my opinion, but shows like Rush's are the audio version of listening to the National Enquirer...
River17, a seasoned veteran truck driver posted this on a trucker's website:
Many FedEx Freight drivers like to stay on the cutting edge of societal evolution by listening to El Rushbo for the past 20 years. For those that have not followed his rise on the radio, can just read the following lengthy article in the New York Times Sunday Magazine.
