Absolutely incredible, in the literal sense

Hello pround American the mayans may have known there was the possibilty of the white gods return, because the Mayans may have known that the white gods had been banished to the barren part of the earth europe, this is I think is represented in the bible when it talks about Adam and Eve leaving the garden of Eden.It probably wasn't two people that had to leave a certain part of earth by force "garden of eden" it may have been a whole race of people. So if these people could could use old knowledge to build their race back up it seems possible that the white gods came back and took revenge for casting them out of the happy state they once were in.

Gen3/24:So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Stone- You don't lend these that much credence, do you?

Wax- No... not at all! And I am glad you asked because the closer we get to this new "end times" the worse the hysteria will get. I would not like to add to it.

This sort of thing is generational and has occured over and over since at least 28 or so when Jesus stood before a group of people and declared that some of them would still be alive when the end of the world came... wait... I just used a Biblical reference and somebody is going to go nuts refuting it: KJ Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled (it won't stop the angry interpritations but it should at least slow them down).

Anyway, since at least that time each generation has had at least some idiots in it who have declared to have "seen the signs" and declared a date for the final moment.
Some of them have been quite funny, some of them rather frightening, but all of them sad.

We just happen to be approaching a point in time which has carried over through a number of generations concerning this.
And we have been there before: Long before the Y2K crowd got vocal the year 2,000 was assumed to be the end all of be all simply because it looks cool on paper (even number, millenial and all).
But 1900 was a big one too.

As I pointed out the programs discussed could simply be stopping there because the older predictions exist and have been encountered. No big mystery there but interesting.

They are interesting because man is an animal and as an animal he is a predator and as a predator he knows intuitively that nature can not, much less will not, allow him to live in affluence for long.
All predators know that hard times are coming, they(we) must know it in order to be predators.
Lions inherently know that there are fewer buffulo this year than last, they must know this because nature requires it in order for them to be lions.

2012 means very little to me.
But it is there and I believe that is a good thing.
Someday my truck won't start and the gas station will be empty.
Take all you can while you can, because the false construct called society which we have created to insure affluence in our predation can not last forever.
It is unnatural at it's very core.

I personally think that the Mayans just got tired of making calenders, and since there isn't any of the calender makers left to ask? well... grin

my guess is that the way the market and economy around the world is going and is so fragile right now as well as they latest wave of crazy violence, somehow it will be a self fulfilling prophesy - you'll see
World markets will crash or some lunetic radical extremists will do something horrible and it will happen on or about the 21st!

That's pretty much already happened, hasn't it?

And yet, here we are.

Since each of us must someday die, and since death pretty much extinguishes everything we've ever known or experienced, I don't see what difference it makes if everyone alive today dies at various times during the next hundred years, or all at once in some catastrophe. Once we're dead, it won't bother us a bit.
