the great thing about conspiracy theories (including the New world order ones) is that they can't, by definition, be proven.

"New World Order" like "War on Terror" is a catch-all phrase that can be used by anyone who wishes to apply it to any circumstance. As such, it is absolutely meaningless.

I agree. Sort of like the term "Neo-con" applied to any and everyone who isn't a left-wing Democrat. Becomes meaningless after the first several hundred uses. wink

okay.. first... I'm a tad amused that the politcal threads are safer to speak about religion then the religious threads... lol. Funny-in-my-head aside... to keep this on-topic.. I think that the real issues with the Catholic Church.. including the nutty end times theories about the Catholic Church being 'the Whore' (although ya'll did sort of start that with the whole madonna/whore complex stuff..opps sorry, another amusing thought) anyway.. the issues I think have to do with the Vatican/Authority thing.. as opposed to the faith itself. With a rising fear of Islam and the concept of theocracy being such a part of that.. coupled with the rather heinous response of the Catholic Church to the sexual abuse as well as the facts of the history of how the Church has dealt (not) with this... AND the growing (or perhaps more vocal?) crazy Christian extremism.. religious authority is simply not credible at this point. ... and.. maybe that was the goal...

Like I said.. it appears (so therefore could be anything) to be part of an expanding polarization.. but the flipside of that .. in my thinking.. is the question of.. what emerges ... what rises up to claim that vacancy? I think this is the 'darkside' to globalization... if left unchecked, if left to the power-mongers, corporations, militaristic nations.. it will be power-over rather that a balance of power-with.

What rises in it's vacancy? The Catholic Church is attempting to establish a "firm" ground here in the USA (and globally) by doing it's part of the expanding globalization. The "migration committee" of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (part of the World International Catholic Migration Committee) will be lobbying Congress for amnesty for illegal aliens. Allowing (overwhelmingly Hispanic) illegal aliens amnesty increases Catholic membership in the USA. Similar efforts by the Catholic Church are happening world wide...

No, not true.

A Conservative, or a Republican is not a Neo-Con. Neo-cons are a group with their own agenda, and as I said, come from the far right wing of the Republican Party. I did NOT say, as you state, that it can apply to anyone, and it doesn't. In fact, as I've just had to repeat because you seem totally incapable of understanding a simple sentence in the English language, it is not a catch-all phrase, it is very specific.

It doesn't apply, for example, to Lawmage. It does apply to you.

Neo-conservatives in today's Republican party are the liberals who believe in the same sort of big government that New Deal Democrats traditionally espouse. To call Neo-cons the "far right wing" is totally ludicrous.

I agree with Wanderingspryte that The Catholic Church has no real power to join the New World Order. As she said

The Conspiracies involving the Catholic Church are in the past. Despite popular books like
Quote:
The Da Vinci Code and Holy Blood Holy Grail
as Dreaco said can not be proven.

Chocolategenii cames up with
Quote:

The problem is that Catholic migration committes world wide have been lobying for better treatement of illegal migrants who are not criminals.
The position in Australia is that these migrants are Buddhist, even some Muslim so it is not doing much to help make Australia catholic. Perhaps it has more to do with Catholic Social policy to help th poor and dispossessed.

However to get off the religious aspect who is running the New World order. We have been assured it is not the Republican Party. Is it just extremist on both sides who want to ciontrol people. It is easy for the left and extreme right to agree on Big Government if it suits their purose

It is not globilization which had failed to get the big powers like USA, China and India to even agree on measures to reduce global warming or free Global trade.

No, you were betrayed by your leaders who stole into office on a claim of compassionate conservatism and provided neither compassion nor true conservative values. You were sold out by someone you trusted, just as those of us who didn't trust him were sold out.

Cheney represents the neo cons more than Bush, and anyone who follows his talking points and activities understands this. People like Wolfowitz, Perl, David Addington, John Yoo, Alberto Gonzales, those are the neocons. Bush will just do what his Svengalis tell him, so he's not really hard core neo.

Actions speak louder than words, to coin a cliché
