the great thing about conspiracy theories (including the New world order ones) is that they can't, by definition, be proven.

"New World Order" like "War on Terror" is a catch-all phrase that can be used by anyone who wishes to apply it to any circumstance. As such, it is absolutely meaningless.

okay.. first... I'm a tad amused that the politcal threads are safer to speak about religion then the religious threads... lol. Funny-in-my-head aside... to keep this on-topic.. I think that the real issues with the Catholic Church.. including the nutty end times theories about the Catholic Church being 'the Whore' (although ya'll did sort of start that with the whole madonna/whore complex stuff..opps sorry, another amusing thought) anyway.. the issues I think have to do with the Vatican/Authority thing.. as opposed to the faith itself. With a rising fear of Islam and the concept of theocracy being such a part of that.. coupled with the rather heinous response of the Catholic Church to the sexual abuse as well as the facts of the history of how the Church has dealt (not) with this... AND the growing (or perhaps more vocal?) crazy Christian extremism.. religious authority is simply not credible at this point. ... and.. maybe that was the goal...
