There is a similarity between that Sunday School and Muslim Madrases I think, since both are used to spread propaganda, ignorance and hate.
For what its worth, I do not hate the Catholic Church. In my experience in my home country, Catholics are not much into hell and damnation, and more incline with the message of love with the New Testament. I like to visit old churches and still bear many Bible stories great affection.
The Vatican is a centuries old institution, so it has had plenty of time to gain enemies. I have never been a fan of conspiracy theories, unless they are backed up by credible evidence, and I dislike all this "end of days" rubbish which tends to target both the EU and/or the Vatican as being evil.
I dislike political conspiracy theories as well, but at least in geopolitics, there are some behind the scenes activities which do partly look like a "New World Order" is being attempted, though I think it will ultimately fail.

Where are you all coming from? If a 'lapsed Catholic' is a 'lapsed Catholic," it shouldn't have anyting to do with a fear of sex or "behavorial guilt foisted upon them in their childhood by Catholic scare tactics." I was raised Catholic, Roman Catholic, and sexual guilt was never foisted upon me. I am a Roman Catholic, I do not go to Mass every Sunday--as a matter of fact, I haven't been to Mass in many years. Why?
Because I believe that one person can be a church. Only one person has to follow what's right in life, according to what he or she believes.
I also believe that religion can be a 'selling tool.' The concrete sub-contractor when we were building our house, for example, had religious tracts and pamphlets strewn around his office, but he still tried to screw us when he wanted to subsitute a lesser grade of concrete than what we had specified and than what he had bid on.
Talk to me, please, about the real world.

WanderingSpryte, I think you are right that because the Catholic Church has such a long history it is easy to attack. Surely sometimes in 2000 years it made mistakes particarly in the more brutal periods of the past. It also had some power at times and like any organization that has too much power it misused it sometimes. However my query is why now that the Church is more enlighten and has no power it is still attack so much. I think the answers given are partly correct. Because there were so many Catholics in the past there are many ex or lasped Catholics. The funny think is that most of these lapsed Catholics still retain some of the practises. Even Grams had admitted she still signs herself sometimes. Also most new churches have broken away from the Catholic Church sometime in the past. To justify thier position many of rhr extreme protestant churches have to emphasis the evil of the Catholic Church aparently to explain their leaving. Also the more extreme groups tend to contribute to religios sites. Not only on foolmoon but everywhere there is difficulty of having a discussion on mainstream churches. For example there was only one respons on the World Youth Day on my website and he was sorry for Catholic Youth. Any serious discussion of religion is very difficult in Australia. In the USA there is more discussion of religion. However it does seem to be confine to "I'm saved, you're scre*ed." and even more ugly is the 'I'm saved and now am going to sit on my butt and let people die of hunger and other suffering until I get to go to heaven'
This makes it difficult to discuss Christian Social teaching.I agree we should try to communicate and reject any suggestion there is only one correct response to these questions. As you say No matter what part we each play, we each play a part. The 'new world order' require participation... passive or active.. Whether it is in religion or politics we much actively opposed any New World Order that imposes only one acceptable way of talking about these issues.
