It is interesting to see how many of us Type II's have blood pressure and cholesteral problems too.

I have been a diagnosed Type II for 10 years now..and my cholesteral results 7 months ago made the doctor want to put me onto meds for it, but I had just started a new lifestyle regieme and asked for a delay until my next visit 6 months later...and guess what I managed to drop a whole point from 6.0 to 5.0 in those 6 months.

The reason (apart from the diabetes) that I changed my lifestyle is that I need an operation for gallstones..and at the moment my weight/size makes the operation both dangerous and difficult due to the size of the instruments.

I have to lose 1/3 of my body weight to get ONTO the waiting list for the op and then it could be 6 - 12 months before the op.

I have noticed that my appetite has shrunk and although I allow myself to go to the buffet and fill my plate, I never manage even a third of what I take, but I feel that I have had what I want. I am careful with what I eat due to the gallstones and cant eat fatty foods...and even if I have been careful I can have an attack for no particular reason.

Good luck with your condition and there are always people around who can give help.

btw..I am in the UK and our measurements are different and the optimum levels for sugar here are between 5.5 and 7.0.
