Imagine if this same Supreme Court where to ban guns by law abiding citizens and allow terrorist to have them?

Wow! What a doomsday scenario, huh?

They're gonna take your gun and give it to Mustafa so he can kill you. And it'll all be legal and sanctioned by the Supreme Court!

And you know what happens once the Supreme Court starts doing that? That's right, Matt, they raise your taxes!! Following that, they start arresting people for praying in their own homes.

Enough of this! Let's just impeach all the liberals off the Court before they start raping your children and laughing at you when you come out of church, and then raising your taxes.

I'm on your side, sir. I will need a minimum contribution of ten dollars to continue fighting the good fight.

Yay, Law--You're back! Now all I have to do is readjust my times to match yours.

Why? You are confused, Liz, thats all. You insisted that the Court ruled Bush's policies were unconstitutional. I said you were wrong, the court ruled that a provision of the Military Commissions Act was an unconstitutional violation of the Suspension Clause. The Court did not address the Bush policies, it addressed a law passed by the Congress.

Was that by any chance a law 'suggested' to a Republican-controlled Congress, with the understanding that he would certainly sign it?

I can understand why somebody would confuse any policy reducing human or individual rights with (un)official Bush policy , since those things are often one and the same.

Would that make a difference? I notice a "Republican controlled" Senate didn't have much problem saying "NO!" to federal judge nominees "suggested" to them over the years.

That's because republicans are manly men that will take any opportunity possible to make a show of force, regardless of how damaging it is to the good of the nation. Dems would rather try the non hostile way of resolving things.

Explains a lot about the Bush administration.

Whoops! I see I didn't make my meaning clear enough. Let me re-write my short paragraph.

Would that make a difference? I notice a "Republican controlled" Senate didn't have much problem saying "NO!" to federal judge nominees "suggested" to them over the past 7 years, by President Bush, which would suggest that Democrats know very well how to block something they don't want AND which highlights the hypocricy of watching them standing on the sidelines pretending THEY didn't have anything to do with any lawmaking once the winds of opinion blow against them a bit.
There, that better?

Myrddin...if you want to continue to attack my nation and its leadership perhaps it is time to attack ireland and its leadership. Shall we discuss Ireland's lack of real religious freedoms? Its impositions on the beliefs of others? its former support for terrorists in northern Ireland? In short, i am rather tired of listening to your crap about my country and its leadership. You are neither a US citizen nor a resident of my nation and your opinion about it and its leadership is worth exactly nothing...
