This is a pretty simple game; just answer the teaser. I'll start us off.

Can you rearrange the following letters to give four different 6-letter words?

you have 8 pawns, any of which can move one or two squares, so we have 16 so far. Each of 2 knights can make one of two moves, adding 4. (you didn't specify they had to be GOOD moves).

So the answer is 20.

Oh, jo said that already. I'll take the silver.

Amoeba is a bowl divide once per minute. If the bowl is half full in 49 minutes, how long will it take for the bowl to be full?

He is correct, Maddie. If it's half full and each amoeba divides every minute, it'll be full in 50 minutes.

This one is quite simple: Seven men arrive at a meeting, and each of them shakes hands once with each of the others. Can you tell me how many handshakes does that make?

Each of 7 men shakes hands with the 6 others. That makes 42 handshakes.

Thats a good one Dax, I knew Shed would figure it out!

Ready for another mathematical one?

The time is twenty-six minutes to one in the afternoon. The year is 1978, and the date is May 6th. What is the significance of this?

Quote:

That would be June 5th......

No...May 6 is the 6th day of the 5th month. Otherwise, the number 4 is omitted and the sequence is interrupted.
I think madhousekeeper is right.

The significance of the date/time is that it is the only time where the date is 12345678...that is,
12:34, 5-6-78 (unless, of course, you go back to 12:34, May 6, 789 when you could get yet another digit.)
