Sitting down watching CNN and what do I see the American cycling team turns up at the Olympics with black masks on.I will be watching with baited breath to see what kind of performance the American cycling team is going to put in.
I ask is the smog that bad that the American cycling team had to turn up wearing blaack masks? Why can't the Americans just say that "we allowed the mask protest to take place, because it's our way of protesting over China's human rights or the lack of it". Protest? Not because of China's atrocious human rights record, but because China dumped tainted human and pet foods, toiletries and pharmaceuticals in the U.S., killing both human and pet Americans. If it were up to me, the U.S. would ban importation of any Chinese goods, or at least require all products to be labeled for the country or countries of origins of every one of its component parts, so I could avoid ever buying anything from China again. I do not support a boycott of the Olympics. It is counter productive. (As for punishing the athletes, it's probably more of a punishment for them..in Beijing and have to exert themselves in the extremely polluted air there. )

Who remembers when I said this: I think once the Olympics are over China is going to flex its muscles, while reminding the world that China does not like losing face as it is now with the embarrassment over Tibet.
Gordon Brown did not go to the opening ceremony for the Olympics, but made it to the closing events,I was surprised that the Chinese let him in the country. It is now clear that they allowed him in so they could make him feel like a "complete knob",showing England in a bad light to the whole world whose eyes were on China. Taken from the BBC: Downing Street and the mayor of London have condemned the use of a portrait of murderer Myra Hindley in a video shown at a London 2012 event in Beijing.
The painting was shown in promotional footage produced by Visit London, not the Olympic 2012 organisers.
A spokesman for Boris Johnson said the mayor was "deeply disturbed" the image had been shown. A Downing Street spokesman said it was in "poor taste". Poor taste is probably what China thought about the torch demonstrations, and the Americans who arrived in China wearing masks.I wonder what China has planned for France and America?
