With the NFL preseason just round the corner, I thought I would take a moment to let people know that with the start of the NFL regular season comes the return of Fantasy Football. We had a good turn-out last year, and I hope people enjoyed themselves enough to play again this year.

Last year's winner was Cy_Click, who made the most of WindDancer's rookie error on the final week to just pip her to the post. Can Cy_Click defend his title? Can WindDancer make amends? Will someone new emerge? There is only one way to find out, and that is to play!

Watch this space for news of how to play!

With your help and guidance Jack, I'll play this time. Even though I don't know anything about this sport.

I'm ready to try this out. What's the worse that can happen? I get beat by a woman again? Nothing new there.

OK folks. The website has been updated ready for the new season. Please check it out and get familiar with it, as there are changes since last year. Player salaries have been increased, as has the salary cap.

To check out the salaries and the new cap, we will run a trial during the pre-season. It's just for fun, and points scored will not be carried forward to the regular season. It's simply for us all to get back into the swing of things. I'll also need your thoughts on the salary cap. Is it too high? Is it not high enough? Is it just right? Tell me what you think. This is YOUR league.

Finally, if you would like to play, all you need to do is send me a private message, telling me your team name, and the players you have picked. As with last year, the deadline each week shall be 6pm Eastern the day before the first game.

For a look at the full rules for the game, and a full player list, please click here.

JACK... After perusing the salary lists, for an even halfway decent team I need $75m in unmarked bills... NOW!!

LMAO

PS - Also, when is the deadline for these first team picks?

I need over $70 million. Or I could pick cheaper players. I'll keep looking.

Okay. I can work with that. I did manage to get it down below $65 million. So when do we get to try it out? Starting this Thursday with the first preseason games?

OK, we'll start this week. Given the short notice, I'll make the deadline for this week 6:30 Thursday evening, Eastern time. Be warned, do not expect huge scores during the pre-season. Most starters will only play one or two series.

The pre-season is just for fun, no scores will count. It is jsut to let new players get the hang of how the league works.

I feel I owe folks an apology. I said that we would have a few weeks of practise during the pre-season. However, due to various things going off in real life, things haven't worked out that way. So I am sorry.

However, we are go for the regular season, and I promise usual service will be resumed by then.

Loki, although I didn't send yout he usual PM to acknowledge reciept of your team list, I did get it. Thank you.

I'm going to throw this one open to the audience. Given the EXTREMELY late hour at which Aint sent me his team list (the late games were well underway when I sent him a message reminding him), should I let Aint's points for Week 1 stand? Should they be stricken from the record? Should I deduct a suitable number of points?

Let me know what you, the players, think, and I shall at accordingly.

Well it is a little late to be putting his team up, I would not think he should get any points. But being a nice guy and all, I would agree to him maybe only getting half his points. Sound fair?
