Just had a Margarita Sunday at the baby shower. My first, and might I say, it was DEEElish!!! And btw, it is becoming much easier to dance with The Wind... I've dropped 20 lbs and two shirt sizes. Trying to get myself geeked up and in shape for walking this winter.

Nice pics, Wind. Is that a 1st Armored Division patch on your hubby's sleeve? Was he stationed overseas by chance?

Regarding the patch designation, I believe so. He was honorably discharged in May 1966, and we met casually less than a year later. He told me that he was stationed either at Camp Casey or Camp Kaiser in S. Korea in the early 60s, and was in the field at the time of the JFK assassination.

Hub died this past summer. He was honored with a 7 gun salute by the VFW Post #822 Honor Guard, and I was presented the flag that draped his casket.

As most of you know, I took care of my hub for 4 1/2 years before he passed away this last summer. One day while walking down the driveway towards the mailbox, this lovely creature approached me and started dancing around me. I just stood there for about five minutes while being circled by a butterfly (Eastern Tiger Swallowtail). I then remembered what I was doing and proceeded to retrieve my mail, which included an "Outdoor Photography" mag. I already had developed a tendency to pay attention, so I saw this as a hint to take a picture of the butterfly. I quietly and calmly re-entered the house to get my camera, which fortunately I remembered to recharge, and then returned to the driveway. And YES, it was waiting for me almost out by the road, gently flapping its wings.

I think it is an appropriate metaphor for life... Beauty in spite of harshness.
