Shaun Rogers, who plays defense for the Lions, he's a damn whopper he is... got 2.5 sacks, and also intercepted the ball which he ran back into the endzone 66 yds for a TD. I was so freakin excited and so proud of him. OMG

Wish I had some of those weathered boards. Don't know what I'd do with them, but I'd sure think of something. They have such a lovely patina.

My dad got a sweet barn door(human size door, not the big sliding doors) from one of his friends. The door was at least 150 years old. He took it to a guy who turned it into a exceptionally nice kitchen table. Very nice finish and what not. I'll try and get pictures next time I go down. The possibilities are endless in what you can do with barn wood.

I visited a barn in Connecticut which was made almost completely out of chestnut wood. I don't recall how old it was, but it had been torn down, moved to an area near the Univ. of Conn. and rebuilt. They were selling plants and herbs there I think it was. The inside was so warm and natural looking. The owners hadn't ruined it with paint and sheetrock. I could live in that barn. Can't remember the name of the place now.

I've seen one or two houses that were built from barn lumber which was left unpainted and largely unadorned except for more aged wood additions. A friend built a camphouse from two donated wooden houses. It's built on creosoted wood pilings near the banks of a creek. No electricity and a tin roof. About 7 feet off the ground with a long front porch.

I need to get going on some more barn pics pretty soon, because if I don't they'll be torn down by the time I get to them. Before I can do that, however, the car needs a couple repairs. Soon... real soon. Also want to get some more lighthouse pics.
