I mentioned this in a post in Interfaith in the thread on night terrors. I thought I'd bring it over here as a thread itself as I think it deserves its own thread.

There are several documented cases of these children online and I guess many more who have seen them and just haven't written anything on them as of yet.

The children in question seem to be seen mainly around cars, hanging around, wanting a ride to somewhere. They provoke very strong reactions in people - fear namely. They have the strong urge to just get away and seem to know that it would be very, very bad to let the children in.

At first they cannot pinpoint what's "wrong" with these children, but they know they are not "normal".

Then, they realize what it is - all the children have totally black eyes. No irises, no white corneas, no pupils. Just black eyes.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Spooky as hell.

I did about 45 minutes of Google on this cause its freaky scary and I like freaky scary

I only found one other story and no pictures. It was about an apartment manager who says that a 17-18 year old boy came to see an apartment, no appointment. He had the all black eyes. Just like the two stories in your link, he was waiting to be invited in to where the person was, the main office of the apt. Usualy you can just walk right in or at least if you have to knock alot of people will just step in when the door is opened, its an office. She says he gave her a scared freaked out feeling, even before she took notice of the eyes. Just like your stories. No reports from countries other than the USA.

Black is a natural color for pupils and even irises. Having even the whites of the eye being black is not something I found any info on, short of those stories. A medical condition maybe? Something done with food coloring or plant dies? Colored contacts dont normaly cover the whites but we've all seen horror movies with zombies, vampires and such who have all black eyes. Its a special effect and Im sure could be duplicated on the street. Id say it was the black eyes alone that set people off but they say they were freaked out before noticing.

If I see any, I will stop and pick them up.

Ornamental contact lenses like the ones Marilyn Manson wears maybe?

It is freaky scary isn't it? That's what caught my attention.

The other thing that caught it, was the fact that people don't notice the eyes until later on in the incident. And they all respond the same way - with the extreme fear, fight or flight (flight) and somehow knowing if they let them in, they'd die.

As far as I know, traditionally and in folklore, the only preternatural being that has to be invited in is the vampyre. But, all these people stated they didn't think these kids were vampyres.

The way they disappear and the speed in which they move is spooky.

The fact that the one guy was killed in his car right in front of the other guy....And the guy who was killed HAD given the youngest a ride earlier. Remember?

I know contacts can change the eyes, as with ole Manson, but Manson still has white corneas, doesn't he? Also, I can't see kids 8 or 10 putting in contact lenses.

This BEK (Black-Eyed Kids) things really spooks me. With MY luck I will run into them.

Doesn't happen that often that I feel this chilled in an adrenaline flight or fight way. I even made sure I locked the doors before reading it!

How can we tell this is factual rather than urban myth? Mind you, it makes for a pretty good start to a short story, way superior to Mr King.

well, we don't. But it's interesting to ponder what these children could be if they're telling the truth. If not, it's still a damn, good spooky story!

creepy...really creepy. I definitely don't want to run into these kids.
