I guess we don't often think about wastewater plants being a refuge for wildlife... it must make you feel terrific that you're making the world such a better and cleaner place. I know I'd get some jb satisfaction out of that!

I know lots of people think of Canadian Geese as pests because they make lawns real messy... but from a little distance they're so pretty to look at. I was actually thinking of having a little pond dug on our land to attract migrating geese and ducks just because I love seeing them so much.

Do you know what type of duck is in your photo?

That's a female mallard. We have mallards, black scooters, lesser scaup, Muscovy and the occasional Hooded Merganser. There are some others but, I don't know their names.

No crayfish?

Would it be safe to eat crayfish down river from a treatment plant?

The water downriver from our plant is cleaner than the water upriver from our plant. CRAWfish from downriver would be great.
